Our Campaign link is here to provide you with relevant information on topical issues that anglers' face. This may include a brief background, relevant contact details on people you may wish to contact in relation to the issue or petitions to sign, which will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

Support the move to BAN commercial netting in Port Phillip Bay!

October 13, 2014

We at Peninsula Compleat Angler all ask you to support the campaign to get netting banned in Port Phillip Bay. With an upcoming state election now is the time to support this cause... this is the time that the pollies will listen.

The dedicated mouthpiece for the campaign is the "Keep Australia Fishing" group and we ask you to subscribe to them on their website and on facebook!

This is not about banning all commercial fishing in the bay but banning the unsustainable methods... Long lining and rod and reel fishing can still exist and provide markets with fresh fish!

Imagine a Mornington Peninsula free from King George Whiting netting - it could be amazing.

Below is a Media Release from the Australian Fishing Trade Association (AFTA) supporting the push to make Port Phillip Bay a recreational fishing haven! Get behind this we’d love to see it happen!
